Privacy policy

Your email address and the details of your order; the address of the house; the photographs, documents and memories you choose to upload; and the edits you make to your book. Payments are taken by Shopify; we never see your card.

To research, write, design, print and deliver your book, and to tell you about its progress. We do not sell personal information. We do not use your photographs, documents or book for marketing without your written permission.

Books name owners on the public record and households in historical records. We do not add living people found only in commercial databases. If a book names you and you would like that changed, write to us.

Uploads are stored privately and shown only through short-lived links to you and to the staff working on your book. Access is logged.

Our public pages use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies and sends Google your browser’s details and the pages you visit; it does not receive your order, uploads or book. You can block it with your browser’s privacy settings or Google’s opt-out add-on.

You can download your uploads and ask us to delete your account and its contents at any time. Printed books and records we must keep for tax purposes are excepted.
